Abstract

672,802. Optical projection screens. MANCHESTER, LORD MAYOR, ALDERMAN, and CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF. Aug. 29, 1950 [Aug. 31, 1949], No. 22552/49. Class 97 (i). A rear projection unit comprises a rigid rear frame 1 carrying a mirror 2, a rigid front frame 3 carrying a translucent screen 4 and foldable spacing members between the frames so that the unit can be folded flat or opened to at least two different positions with the frames inclined, means being provided for positive location of the frames in any such position. The frames may be connected by pairs of pivoted links 5 and 51 pivoted to the frames at 6 and to slidable collars 7. Links 9 and 10 determine the relative positions of the frames, the former having alternative holes for engagement with a fixing stud. The projector is supported on a platform 16 on a leg 17. Hinged doors 11, 12 are provided in front of the screen. For daylight use these support a hood which also covers the space between the frames.
