Abstract

1336554 Projection screens E WATSON 19 April 1971 [19 March 1970] 13205/70 Heading G2A A back-projection screen assembly for displaying projected images comprises a translucent screen 10, two or more plane mirrors, three 17, 18, 19 being shown, hinged to adopt first and second positions, and a collapsible frame; in the first position the frame is expanded and the mirrors are capable of successively reflecting an image from a projector on to the screen 10, see Fig.1, in the second position the frame is collapsed and the mirrors lie in planes substantially parallel to the screen 10. The screen 10 is mounted in a rectangular frame 11 which is hingedly supported at 12 by a support board 13 which is in turn hinged to a base 14. The collapsible frame comprises articulated struts 22- 25 positioned on each side of screen 10, the articulated ends of struts 23 and 24, and one end of strut 22, moving in slideways 33 and 32 formed in a horizontal strut 20 and in the base 14 respectively. The mirrors 17 and 18 are hingedly mounted by triangular brackets 26, 28 on the support board 13 and the mirror 19 is mounted by a triangular bracket 29 on the rectangular frame 11. The screen assembly is collapsed by pushing in the hinge at 12 from right to left, Fig.2.
