Abstract
672,434. Voltage control systems. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. April 28, 1950 [May 2, 1949], No. 10494/50. Class 38 (iv). [Also in Group XL (c)] A voltage adjustable as to sign and magnitude and balanced about the mean potential of the source 1 (and thus suitable for supplying symmetrical shift potentials to the plates of a cathode-ray tube) is obtained from the terminals 8, 9 of a bridge network R1-R4, adjustment being effected by variation of R4, the network elements R1-R4, which may be resistors, or impedances of equal phase angles, being so proportioned that the value of the expression 2R2R3/R1-R2-R3 lies within the range in which R4 is adjustable. A further expression is included in the Specification which must be satisfied if the voltage adjustment in the positive and negative directions are to be equal.
