Abstract

A liquid cleansing composition for stone-work, enamelled and like articles comprises a mixture of 25 parts of caustic soda, 72 parts of water, and 3 parts of potato meal, the parts being by weight. Alternatively, the composition may comprise any of the following: 50-60 parts of soda lye, 37-47 parts of water, and 3 parts of potato meal; 60 parts of sodium bicarbonate, 37 parts of water, and 3 parts of potato meal; 70 parts of soda, 28 parts of water, and 2 parts of potato meal; 25 parts of sodium peroxide, 72 parts of water, and 3 parts of potato meal. The composition is preferably applied by means of a paint brush and the surface then washed down with water.
