Abstract

672,117. Milling-cutters. FOURNIER, F. March 9, 1948, No. 7272/48. Class 83 (iii). A milling-cutter comprises a rotatable body having a series of helically-arranged cutting teeth 8 each provided with a single cutting edge 15 which is located at one side of the tooth and extends from the body to the tip of the tooth. The workpiece is machined in the direction of the arrow 5. The teeth each taper from the base to the tip and may consist of elements inserted in the body. The body may be conical or shaped in accordance with the surface to be milled.
