Abstract

670,263. Buttons; studs. CATCH, G. H. C. June 4, 1949 [Jan. 19, 1949], No. 1447/49. Class 43. In a detachable button 1 wherein a head 3, of circular cross-section at the end of a stem 2 is passed through a hole in a garment to receive a retaining washer 6 having a hole of smaller area than the crosssectional area of the head 3, both the parts are 'of pliable plastic which after deformation will return to its original shape, and the head 3 forms a flat shoulder 4 with the stem 2, the depth of the head and washer being such that the washer can be prised over the head by inclining it relatively thereto. The parts are made as thermo-plastic mouldings, e.g. from the material known under the Registered Trade Mark " Alkathene." The outer face 5 of the head 3 is conical or convex to facilitate engagement of the washer over the head.
