Abstract

698,187. Buttons. PIGNON, Ltd., H. L. Aug. 30, 1951 [Sept. 25, 1950], No. 23473/50. Class 43. A button 11 moulded from transparent or translucent material and having a smooth front face 12 is provided at the back 14 with countersunk or indented recesses 15, 16 forming a decoration or pattern into which paint is applied. The button may be produced from glass or a synthetic resin. After the recesses have been painted, e.g. by a miniature spray or syringe, the whole of the back 14 may be covered with a waterproof paint to form a background for the pattern, and to protect the colours thereof. A metal disc member 20 carrying a sewing eye 21 may be clipped over an annular flange 13 of the button; alternatively the button may have an integral, apertured shank or may have the usual vertical holes drilled therein.
