Abstract
594,610. Decorative jewellery. WARNER, S. R., and WARNER, J. H. Nov. 9, 1945, No. 13638. [Class 43] [Also in Group XV] Decorated articles such as brooches, clasps, buckles and toilet sets are produced by moulding in relief on the upper surface of the top layer of plastic transparent or translucent material the form of the decorative device and inserting between this and a second layer of the material painting, colouring or like designs and then sealing the edge of the material together. In the drawings the top layer 2 of transparent. polymethyl methacrylate is moulded in relief, thin paper 4 carrying a design is adhesively secured to the under surface, the bottom layer 3 attached and the joint sealed with trichloroethylene, chloroform, or polymethyl methacrylate solution. A glitter effect can be produced by removing the paper before the adhesive sets and then reattaching it. A fastening device 5 can be secured to the back layer 3 by a rivet and/or by a solution of polymethyl methacrylate.
