Abstract
668,086. Record changers. DAWSON, T. C. W. Jan. 3, 1950. [Jan. 3, 1949] No. 103/49. Class 40 (ii). A gramophone record changing apparatus comprises a rod 2 inclined to the vertical, the lower end of said, rod being disposed over the end of the turntable spindle 1b which serves as a support 3 for the record stack, a record releasing element 8 pivoted to the supporting rod 2 to hang freely with the lower end inside the hole of the lowermost record, and an actuating rod 9 projecting upwardly out of the turntable spindle 1b to engage, when raised, the releasing element 8 and rock the latter outwardly to displace the lowermost .record off the said support 3. The spindle assembly 1a, 1b, 9, which is normally stationary but withdrawable, is held in a base comprising components 28, 31 between which spring- loaded keys 29 engage slots 26 in part 1a of the turntable spindle, which may be withdrawn after rotating the same a quarter revolution. The turntable 21 is secured to a mandrel 22 mounted in bearings 23, 24, and rotated by means of gear teeth 25. Specification 668,098 is referred to.
