Class 20(iv) A method of colouring the surface of hotlaid mastic flooring comprises applying a mixture of a pigment or pigments and a binder to the surface while still hot, said mixture having a softening or melting point appreciably below that of the hot mastic whereby the mixture is softened or melted under the influence of the hot mastic and becomes incorporated in the surface of the flooring. The melted mixture may be spread as a film over the mastic by polishing with a wooden float and the coloured surface may be dusted with powdered sodium oleate.
