Abstract

665,852. Helical shoots. SHEEPBRIDGE ENGINEERING, Ltd., and HARDING, R. S. Oct. 28, 1949. [Nov. 1, 1948] No. 28342/48. Clasa 78 (i). The helical plates 21 are connected together by straps 23 at their inner undersides and are supported within the sections 10 of the casing by bolts 22, each section 10 being fitted with an inspection door 25 and the whole being supported by brackets 15 resting on frame 14. Section 10a is divided into two portions which are connected by clamping ring 13. The top portion of this section is fixed to the upper sections 10 supported by brackets 15 and the lower part of this section is supported normally by the sections beneath and is provided with brackets 18 which are suspended from frame 14 by threaded rods 19 on which work nuts 20. When it is required to remove a lower section 10 (not shown) of the casing, the said section is unbolted to free it, the clamping ring 13 is removed, and the nuts 20 are screwed on the threaded rods 19 so as to take the weight of these sections (superposed on said section), which section can then be removed.
