Abstract

664,618. Automatic temperature regulators. ELCALOR AKT.-GES. April 8, 1949 [April 8, 1948], No. 9628/49. Class 38 (iv): An automatic temperature regulator for, e.g., a hot-plate, flat iron, or oven, comprises a temperature-sensitive-resistor controlling the heating coil of a thermal switch in the main heater circuit. The temperaturesensitive-resistor may be in shunt or series with the switch heater coil. As shown, the temperature-sensitive-resistor 4 is connected in series with the main heater element 3, and in parallel with the heater coil 5 of a bimetallic switch 2. As the temperature rises more current is shunted through the heater coil. The switch may be in part controlled by the main heater current flowing through a further switch-heater-coil 7 (dotted). The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes an alternative arrangement with the temperature-sensitive-resistor and switch-heater coil connected in series and energized from a separate supply, Fig. 2 (Cancelled, not shown). This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
