Abstract

663,684. Binding-posts. LANDIS & GYR SOC. ANON. Oct. 28, 1949 [Nov. 2, 1948], No. 27727/49. Class 38 (i). Connectors for carrying current through partitions are manufactured by a continuous process comprising inserting and securing stamped-out current carrying members in holes in a similarly manufactured supporting- piece and subdividing said strip into a number of connectors each having a desired number of conducting members. Fig. 1 shows one .embodiment wherein the conducting members 3 carry terminal screws at each end and are inserted through slots 2 in an insulating supporting strip 1 with washers 8 on either side, shoulders 4 on the members 3 bearing on the washers on one side and lugs 5 being bent over the other washers to receive the members in position. Alternatively, the members 3 may form soldering tags, the slots 2 in this case being arranged parallel to each other to obtain wider spacing and the ends of the members being twisted through 90 degrees to facilitate soldering. Fig. 7 shows another embodiment wherein the members 3 are a press fit in the support 1 and washers 8 and they are secured by twisting their ends after insertion. In Fig. 8, the members 3 form leaf-springs and they are secured in the support 1 by intermediate pieces 11 having shoulders 4 and lugs 5 engaging the washers 8 as in Fig. 1 and projections 13 entering holes in the leaf-springs.
