Abstract
663,439. Seats. TOWLE, R.A., (trading as GOODWOOD UPHOLSTERY & FURNITURE). Aug. 24, 1950. [Aug. 24, 1949] No. 21971/49. Class 52 (ii). Upholstered chairs &c. are provided with side walls incorporating arm rests which side walls are hinged to the side surfaces of the seat and also secured in operative position by releasable means. As shown the upholstered side walls 30 are hinged at 24 to the front of the seat 1 as that they may be swung outwardly to facilitate cleaning. The rear of the seat 1 is provided with brackets 8 having slots 9 and winged screws 10 which are arranged to pass through apertures 18 in the lower brackets 16 of the removable back rest 2, the screws 10 finally being screwed into threaded holes 26 in brackets 27 on the side walls to hold them in operative position. The brackets 16 are also provided with pegs 17 adapted to be located, in the slots 9 of the seat brackets 8. For transport purposes the back rest 2 is removed and laid on the seat between the arm rests. Specification 630,026 is referred to.
