Abstract
662,561. Weighing apparatus. HALL & CO., Ltd., and CARLSEN, H. W. March 30, 1949 [March 30, 1948], No. 8673/49. Class 143. In an automatic feed weigher cut-off is effected by compressing a flexible rubber delivery tube 2. Material contained in the hopper 1 is delivered through tube 2 to a container 5, a manually rotatable vane 3 serving to agitate the material to promote an even flow, and, on the accumulation of a predetermined weight in said container, the beam 8 overbalances. Consequent movement of a member 7, secured to the beam, pivots a lever 9 about its pivot 20 so releasing an arm 11 which, due to a counterweight 12, pivots about its pivot 13 and forces a roller 14 into engagement with the tube 2 which is thereby compressed against a fixed rubber pad 15. The arm is re-set by a handle 17, the end 18 being suitably shaped to allow it to pass the roller 10.
