661,295. Horse clippers. DEHN, S. G. (Sunbeam Corporation). March 23, 1949. No. 7922/49. Class 131. A sheep clipper, having a cutter movably mounted on top of a comb attached to the handle of the clipper, is provided with at least one resilient pressure plate below the comb and bearing against the comb at a number of spaced positions, two of which positions are adjacent opposite lateral edges of the comb. As shown, the pressure plate 31, of resilient material, is of concavo-convex cross section, and is secured to the base portion 17 of the comb 12 by screws 19 which also secure the comb to the handle 11. The corners 30, 30<SP>1</SP> of the pressure plate press on the base plate and prevent the comb from being displaced away from the plane of the cutter 13 during operation of the clipper. In a modification two Y-shaped resilient plates are provided which partially overlap each other and are formed with projections at the end of each arm and of each stem portion which press on the base member of the comb.
