Abstract

The cores of two interconnected transformers forming a magnetic amplifier (see Group XXXIX) may be constructed from dissimilar ferro-magnetic materials. Suitable materials given are compositions consisting of 79 per cent nickel, 5 per cent molybdenum, 0.5 per cent manganese and 15.5 per cent iron or 65 per cent nickel and 35 per cent iron for one core and either 70 per cent nickel and 30 per cent iron or 78.5 per cent nickel, 3.5 per cent molybdenum, 0.5 per cent manganese and 17.5 per cent iron for the other core.
