Abstract
659,548. Cement. EVERY, C. E. (Smidth & Co. Aktieselskabet, F. L.). July 26, 1949, No. 19647. [Class 22] [Also in Group XII] Cement clinker, burnt lime, &c. obtained from processes in which metals are smelted or melted, is purified by oxidation as in the process described in Specification 579,762. Clinker &c. discharged from a rotary kiln 1 into a cooler 3, passes through a crusher 5 and a separator 7, is mixed with fuel in a hopper 10 and discharged into the burner pipe 13 of a rotary kiln 14 used conventionally for the burning of cement. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the separated clinker is supplied to a separate hopper and blown into the second kiln by air supplied from the clinker cooler attached thereto, while in a further modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), the second kiln has planetary clinker coolers.
