658,896. Mowing-machines. AKTIEBOLAGET ARVIKA-VERKEN, and GUSTAVSSON, B.A. April 20, 1949, No. 10472. [Class 6(iii)] A tractor-drawn mower, having the cutter-bar 1 connected to a drag-bar 3 which is articulated to a drawbar 9 projecting rearwardly from the tractor, is characterized in that the knife-bar is reciprocated, through a pitman 10, by a crank disc 12 itself driven by a belt 13 from a pulley 14 mounted above the drag-bar and connected to the power take-off on the tractor by a cardan shaft 17. A yoke 2 connects the cutter-bar to the drag-bar which is secured to a pin 5 rotatable in a bearing 6 swivelling in a fork 8 en the end of the drawbar 9. The cutter-bar is therefore free to accommodate itself to ground irregularities. The crank disc 12 rotates on the pin 5 but is arranged at a lower level than the power take-off 18; the belt-drive 13 allows for the difference in levels.
