Abstract

657,256. Dieholders for coining presses. TAYLOR & CHALLEN, Ltd., and CHALLEN, W. B. Jan. 25, 1949, No. 1970. [Class 83 (iv)] In a coining press the die 3 is held within a housing 4 by slidable pins 5 and screw plugs 6. An apertured collar 7 surrounds the rear part.of the housing and bears against the pins 5. Screw plugs 8 are carried by the collar 7 which is maintained on the housing 4 on ribs 12-14 engaging in grooves 9-11 in the collar. Adjustment of the plugs 6 and 8 therefore adjusts the die laterally. The housing 4 is itself adjustably positioned in a similar fashion within a holder 21 and collar 25, whereby adjustment of screw plugs 22 and 24 (Fig. 1, not shown), causes angular adjustment of the housing and die.
