Abstract
655,894. Copy grinding. LABORDE HERMANOS SOC. ANON. June 2, 1948, No. 14946. Convention date, March 11. [Class 60] [Also in Groups XXII and XXIV] A copy grinding machine particularly for producing milling cutters in which the form of an enlarged master pattern 10 is transmitted to the work by means of reduction mechanism comprising a cone having a stepped profile is characterized in that the reduction mechanism includes a pantograph 12 comprising one, 11, of a series of interchangeable cones engaging the pattern, the cone having a stepped profile to provide a series of different predetermined diameters, one of which is selected according to the degree of abrasion of the grinding tool. The pantograph is preferably mounted on rollers. The machine is driven by means of an electric motor having coupled to the shaft thereof a double pulley 15 connected by means of a driving belt to secondary pulleys 16 mounted on a support which is provided with a wheel 17 adapted to move over a sector 19, concentric with the motor shaft, so as to maintain the tension of the driving belt upon displacement of the pantograph. The spindle head 13 is driven from the secondary pulleys by means of a belt, the tension of which is controlled by means of a spring 18.
