[Class 106 (iii)] A ticket-cancelling machine comprises in combination a cutting-mechanism enclosed within a housing, the front wall of which is provided with an elongated substantially horizontal ticket opening, a funnel element extending from said opening for guiding tickets into the opening, said funnel element comprising an elongated narrow guide-plate extending along one longitudinal and two opposed side edges of said opening. A guide-plate 24 (Figs. 1, 2) of generally U-shape is positioned on a wall of the ticket-cancelling machine and is aligned with a rectangular opening 11 in the wall 10. The plate is shaped to extend along three sides of the opening, as shown. In other examples, Figs. 6, 8, the U-shaped guide-plate 38 and 50 respectively is not placed against the wall but is held at an angle thereto by a plate 33 and 45, respectively fastened to a plate which connects the limbs of the U-shaped plate.
