Abstract

653,361. Hand-tool handles. GRAY, N. J. May 20, 1949, No.19395/48. [Class 61(i)] In a mop head of the type which consists of two plates, which may conveniently be circular, and which are held together in parallel relation by means such as nuts and bolts with the mop material retained therebetween, one of the plates has a tongue extending from or near to its edge and the other plate has a slot therethrough near its edge, the two plates being hingedly secured by passing the tongue through the slot and bending the same outwardly and upwardly around the edge of the slotted plate, the two plates being maintained in their mop material retaining position by readily releasable means such as a bolt and nut. In the figure the tongue 2 projecting from the edge of the upper plate 1 is bent back against the under-surface of the plate and then downwardly through the slot 3 in the plate 4 and is then rolled as at 5 to encircle part of the plate 4 between the slot and edge. The plates are maintained in position by a nut and bolt 6 and a handle socket 7 is provided.
