Abstract

653,297. Towel dispensers. BROOKGATE INDUSTRIES. Ltd., and WOOLLARD, F. E. Dec. 17, 1948, No. 32668. [Class 18] A paper towel dispensing cabinet comprises a rear wall 3 and two side walls 4 between which a roll of the paper is axially mounted. The paper is withdrawn from the open bottom of the cabinet after it has passed round a smoothing bar 16 in contact with which it is held by a spring loaded flap 17. A shutter 8 hinged to the lower edge of the front wall 7 and normally held in an inclined position by flanges 10 on the side walls 4 is provided with teeth along its lower edge which engage perforations in the paper and facilitate its severance. After a length has been severed, the shutter is urged inwardly towards stops 20 to free the end of the paper extending from the roll to enable a further length to be withdrawn. A cover 5 is provided, hinged to the top edge of the front wall 7.
