[Class 18] [Also in Group XXV] A box or case for electronic apparatus comprises two detachable sides 1, connected to a base 13 by interengaging flanges about which the sides hinge, and a top portion 2 formed integrally with each side, the free edge 8 of each portion 2 being upturned for engagement by a channel-section member 9 to retain the top portions and sides in the closed position. Handles 10, pivoted about lugs 11 projecting from a bar 16 mounted within the case, are attached to the member 9 so that when the case is closed lifting by the handles urges the member 9 into engagement with the upturned edges 8. To open the case it is necessary to push the handles downwards to raise the member 9 and free the edges 8. Pins 18 project from the edges of the ends 7 of the case and engage apertures in the sides to locate the sides in the closed position. The ends 7 of the case may be divided into two portions and the base 13 may be hinged about the centre line so that the case may be further opened by swing- ing it about the base hinge 14. The case, provided with the two detachable sides, divided ends and hinged base, facilitates access to both sides of plates 15 supported within the case for carrying the apparatus.
