Abstract

649,954. Box lids. REDWING, Ltd., and STUART, J. C. S. May 10, 1948, No. 12801. [Class 18] [Also in Group XI] A lid 4 of a domestic cabinet 3 having an all-round flange is linked to the cabinet by a pair of jointed links on opposite sides so that the lid may be raised into a vertical position flush with the back edge of the cabinet. Each pair of links 7, 8 is pivoted at 9 and has a stop 9a to prevent the joint breaking downwards, the links being pivoted in lugs 5a, 6 attached to the lid and cabinet respectively. The back flange of the lid has apertures 10 engaging projections 11 on the cabinet when the lid is raised. In a modification, a flangeless lid carries apertured lugs engaging projections on the cabinet.
