Abstract

653,033. Air filters; removing dust in industrial processes; vacuum cleaners. BYLOCK ELECTRIC, Ltd., and STORY, A. L. July 7, 1948, No. 18275. [Classes 8(i) and 8(ii)] A container 1 has an outlet 21 for connection to the suction side of a vacuum cleaner as by hose 23 and is provided with a suction nozzle 6 connected to the container by a flexible hose 5 and with a screen in the form of a removable inner basket 7 having a mesh bottom 8 for receiving the material from the suction nozzle 6, e.g. from fireplaces and for separating the coarser from the finer material, the container being further provided with a second screen or filter 24 of finer mesh fitted over the outlet 21 to prevent the passage to the vacuum cleaner of all but fine-powder ash. The container has a removable cover 15 which carries the outlet 21 and the fine screen 24. The basket 7 has a skirt portion 11 fitting over the edge of the container wall and the cover 15 has a skirt portion 16 fitting over the skirt portion of the basket and a sealing ring 17 is provided between the cover and the basket.
