[Class 97 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXII] In a gyroscope horizon for aircraft, which may be of the electric motor type, comprising an inductor element 12 mounted on a rotor shaft 13 and co-operating with a pendulum magnet 14, instability of the pendulum magnet is prevented by dashpots 20 and 22 (see Group XXXII), which are mounted respectively between a gimbal ring 15, pivoted about a horizontal axis 16, and a fixed support 21 and between the gimbal ring 15 and a bail member 17 which is pivoted to the former on an axis 18 at right angles to and intersecting the axis 16.
