Abstract

650,594. Valve circuits for radio reception. ELECTRIC & MUSICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. July 9, 1948, No. 18440. [Class 40 (v)] Distortion is prevented in a diode or like detector circuit by making the variation of amplitude and phase with frequency in either direction from the carrier frequency in the input circuit the same as the corresponding variation as the frequency varies from zero in the detector load circuit. The detector load may comprise resistance R3, Fig. 1, and shunt capacity C3, the tuned input circuit L, C1 being adjusted to have a similar amplitude and phasevariation characteristic. The load circuit may also include inductance L3, Fig. 2, a corresponding response being obtained in the input circuit by means of inductance L2, capacity C2 and resistance R2 connected in series across a tap on the inductance L1.
