Abstract

649,400. Valve generating circuits. WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC INTERNATIONAL CO. Aug. 12, 1948, No. 21295. Convention date, Sept. 19, 1947. [Class 40 (vi)] In a valve oscillator circuit in which the anode tuning inductor 12 is connected through a blocking capacitor 11 to the anode, the passage of circulating currents between the inductor and the anode-to-earth self-capacitance which necessitates an expensive blocking capacitor is avoided by providing a conducting screen 13 between anode and earth, the screen being connected to the junction of the inductor and blocking capacitor. The oscillator shown has the anode circuit tuned by inductor 12 and self-capacitance 14 and coupled to the un-tuned grid inductor 7 through the anode-to-grid self-capacitance. A suitable mounting for the screen is described (Fig. 2, not shown).
