Abstract

648,772. Warp stop motion. BAUGNIES, E. Nov. 25, 1947. No. 31246. Convention date, Sept. 30, 1947. [Classes 142(i) and 142(iv)] A warp stop motion comprises an electrical drop wire suspended by a link, of appreciably larger internal diameter than the diameter of the warp thread, and arranged, on breakage of a warp thread, to drop and complete an electric circuit which operates a signalling apparatus and a switch cutting off the electric supply. A drop wire 1 has an upper loop 3, to which a link 2 engaging a warp thread is attached, an elongated loop 4 engaging guides 5 connected to one pole of a source of electrical energy 6, and a lower portion 10 in electrical connection with the loop 4 and which, when a thread breaks, completes an electric circuit through a plate 7 to operate a signalling device 8 and a switch 9 which cuts off the electric supply. Rollers 12, 13 and 14 tension the warp threads. In the embodiment described, two drop wires are employed on each warp thread.
