Abstract
1,054,559. Knitting-machines; stop motions. A. GORMAR. Oct. 10, 1963, No. 40084/63. Headings DIC and DID. An electronic stop motion device for a textile machine comprises an electrically conductive guide bar 4 and an electrically conductive control bar 5 spaced therefrom, the guide bar carrying thread riders 2 held remote from the control bar by a thread 1. When a break occurs in the thread the rider moves into contact with the control bar. A twin anode discharge tube 12 has a low frequency voltage applied between one anode and the cathode and is so arranged in the circuit that when the rider makes contact between the two bars then a current is applied to the second anode which causes the tube to fire. The surge voltage thus produced closes relay 13 which causes the machine to stop.
