Abstract

1, 033, 409. Knitting-machines. N. CORAH (ST. MARGARET) Ltd., J. A. SHARP and D. L. JINKS. June 25, 1964 [July 5, 1963], No. 26661/63. Heading D1C. The run off end 28 of a thread wound on a bobbin 7 is trapped between the coils of compression spring 26 which is carried on a copper bar 25 and a contact 27. When the thread on the bobbin is exhausted the position of its feed changes from 29 to 29<SP>1</SP> where it pulls the bar and spring into the position 26<SP>1</SP> under the action of the knitting needles. In the position 26<SP>1</SP> the contact 27 touches a contact 13 on a conducting bar 11 which completes an electrical circuit to operate the stop motion switch 22 of the machine, Fig. 1 (not shown). Several contacts 13 are provided on each of a number of bars 11 in order that bars 25 can be provided for all the bobbins and any resulting contact can stop the machine.
