Abstract

647,503. Walls; structural metalwork. GORRIE, C. C., and GYPROC PRODUCTS, Ltd. Nov. 3, 1947, No. 29333. [Classes 20(ii) and 20(iv)] In a cavity wall comprising posts having four pairs of flanges 11-14, Fig. 4, disposed on each side of a web 10 and adapted to embrace the edge of wall panels E2, the posts are connected by horizontal rails formed of separate lengths of channel section supported on saddles locked by wedges in slots in the posts 10 or as shown in Fig. 4 the horizontal rails B are of the same section as the posts 10. A cradle D also supports the rails B. The flanges 12, 13 are tapered to facilitate insertion of the panels. In a modification the horizontal rails 19, Fig. 5, are continuous and pass through apertures in the posts 10 and are held in position by wedges 22 abutting against the posts 10 and engaging apertures 21 in the rails 19. Door frames of channel section may fit between flanges 11, 14. Specification 647,504 is referred to.
