Abstract

647,305. Conveyers. LOBBE, W. May 26, 1948, No. 14267. Convention date, July 4, 1947. [Class 78 (i)] In a mining conveyer in which the coal is conveyed along a trough by an endless belt or scraper conveyer 4, a protective casing 13 for electric cables 14, hoses, signal lines 15, &c. is attached to the side of the trough remote from the coal face and projects above the level of the upper surface of the wall of the trough. The casing 13 is attached to a sectional iron rail 12 which is bolted to the side of the trough. The casing is provided with openings at intervals through which the cables &c. may be reached and with branch couplings, plug sockets &c. for lamps or other apparatus. When the coal seam is low, the casing may be shaped as shown in broken lines.
