647,008. Linkwork. PERDELLI, F. Dec. 1946. [Class 80(iii)] [Also in Group XXV 31, 1947, No. 35131. Convention date, Jan.. In an arrangement for the transmission and transformation of motion, co-axial pistons 2 having the same movements in a cylinder 1 are connected to a crank 10 by means of a double-armed lever 4 which is of the second order. A pivot 3 on the pistons 2 works in a slot 7 in one end of the lever 4, the other end of the lever 4 being pivoted at a fixed point 5. As shown, at an intermediate point 8 on the lever 4 is mounted the small end of a connecting-rod 9 which actuates the crank 10. Alternatively the crank pin may directly engage a longitudinal slot in the lever 4. In a modification, Fig. 2, the lever 4 is directly pivoted to the pistons 2, and a link 11 is interposed between the opposite end pivot 5 and a fixed pivot 12. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also an arrangement in which the end 8 of the lever is attached to the connecting-rod 9, Fig. 2 (Cancelled), and an intermediate pivot 5 is attached by means of a link 11 to a fixed pivot 12. In another embodiment, the lever 4 has an arm 15, Fig. 5 (Cancelled), at right angles thereto which contains a slot which is engaged by the crank pin 14. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
