[Class 110(iii)] [Also in Group XXXIII] Gas turbines 4, 5 drive a ship's propeller 1 through gearing 3. The propeller has blades angularly adjustable through a range which gives variation in forward power and also reversal. The turbines may have automatic control responsive to combustion chamber or exhaust gas temperature or to turbine speed. The blade pitch is varied by a hydraulic piston 8 and rod 9. The piston rides in a stationary cylinder 7 under control by a piston valve 10.
