[Class 110(iii) [Also in Group XIII] H e a t protection coverings for casings which are subjected to high intern a 1 temperatures, particularly steam and gas turbine casings with horizontal axes, are constructed so that the lower half of the casing 1 is provided with a better heat protection than the upper half 2. As shown, the thickness of the covering 3 is greater than that of the covering 4. Alternatively, the material of the covering on the lower half may have a greater heat resistance than that on the upper half. The ratio of the heat protection of the coverings is such that uniform heating and cooling of the upper and lower casing halves occurs.
