Abstract

292,514. Akt.-Ges. Brown, Boveri, et Cie. June 20, 1927, [Convention date]. Metal pipes.-A pipe for use with turbines for conveying hot gases consists of a thin heat resisting sheet metal inner shell 1 and an outer shell 2 the intermediate space being filled with any heat insulating material 3 which supports the inner shell. Ribs 4 of the outer shell also support the inner shell. Small holes may be provided for puttting the intermediate space in communication with the space within the inner shell to equalize the pressure. This method of construction may also be applied in the construction of the combustion chambers of gas turbines and in the inner and outer casings of the turbine itself. Specification 198,390, [Class 110 (iii), Turbines &c.], is referred to.
