643,689. Electromechanical resonators, HOGBEN, R. S., and COOK, W. R. J. Feb. 16, 1948, No. 4422. [Class 40 (viii)] An electromechanical resonator comprises a metal bar a supported solely about a node of vibration by spaced pins b having points engaging in shaped and positioned recesses in the bar. Electrostatic transducers are arranged at each end of the bar comprising plates i opposed to the ends of the bar, one being connected to an output terminal, the other to an input terminal while the bar is connected to a common input and output terminals. The plates i may be grooved to increase air damping of the vibration of the bar. The apparatus may be enclosed in a gas-tight case h.
