642,742. Luminescent materials. SYLVANIA ELECTRIC PRODUCTS, Inc. Aug. 5, 1947, No. 21278. Convention date, June 29, 1946. [Class 39 (i)] Antimony oxide Sb 2 O 3 is added to the suspension of a luminescent material for coating discharge lamps, e.g. zinc silicate, zinc beryllium silicate and/or magnesium tungstate. The suspension comprises the luminescent material, a solvent, e.g. amyl or butyl acetate, xylol, toluol or normal heptane. a lacquer, e.g. nitrocellulose or ethyl cellulose and a plasticizer, e.g. di-methyl-phthalate. The proportion of Sb 2 O 3 should be between 5 and 0.005 per cent of the weight of dry luminescent material.
