[Class 3(i)] A chart for displaying detailed information such as of industrial output by means of tapes individually coloured or marked, has the tapes in the form of elongated closed loops connected together in end to end relationship by means of links and observable through a window or slot, the tapes being individually and collectively linearly adjustable so that the appropriate lengths of coloured tape are brought opposite the slot to give the information required. A casing 1 is provided with slots 2 behind each of which two strips 3, 3a are mounted, each strip being divided into two sections of contrasting colour, 4, 5 or 6, 7 joined into a loop by means of a clip 37, the ends being clamped by an eyelet 19, and the two loops being joined at the back and front of the casing by floating links 15a carrying rollers 16a, the front link being formed with a bar 35 with upturned edge 17, the bar being coloured to match the section 5 or 7. Each strip passes round fixed guide rollers 11a and on opposite sides of a fixed post 12a, the loop 3 passing round a roller 11b carried by a spring loaded bracket 13 to tension both loops. The four colour sections can be varied in length by means of a stylus, one end having a slot into which the edge 17 enters and the other being pointed to enter either of the eyelets 19, the edge 17 or eyelet 19 then being moved laterally. The clip 37 is formed to overlap the bar 35 when no colour 5 is required and to abut a stop 39 for no colour 4. An obturator strip 9 is mounted on the right of the casing and has an eyelet 19 by which it can be moved to cover the colour 7. To prevent unintentional movement of eyelets 19 or floating links 15a, the strips 3, 3a are gripped by spring urged part circular members 23, 24 on either side of the posts 12a, the members 23, 24 being moved to unlock either strip 3 or 3a by means of a cam associated with a locking knob 20 or 21 respectively which separates pawls associated with the members 23, 24. To move the floating links 15a, the knobs 20, 21 are turned to locking position, the central knob 22 is turned and a cam on the knob operates oppositely directed sliding bars to engage the inner pawls only to move the two members 23 to unlocked position. A replaceable card 33 carries information relative to each slot 2 and a card 34 carries a colour chart. A standard scale calibrated 1 to 100 is provided between each slot 2 and a replaceable master scale 40 is provided at the top.
