Abstract

641,160. Smokers' ash-receptacles. BAUGH, H. N., and BAUGH, J. Nov. 10, 1948, No. 29166. [Class 130] An ash receptacle has a pivoted plate 20 above the ash-well 28, a rod 23 and knob 25 being provided to rotate the plate 20 against a spring 26, and so open the well. The well may be emptied by turning the device on trunnions 13a mounted in slots in side members having flanges 11. It is retained upright by rib 12 on a spring back 9 forming the entrance for the cigarette ash. It is especially suitable for mounting in an opening 3 in a seat back of a vehicle to which it is attached by screws 5. The Provisional Specification describes a combination with a cigarette container from which cigarettes are delivered one at a time by turning the device. The ash receptacle is connected to the cigarette container by stud and slot connection.
