Abstract
641,142. Smokers' ash-receptacles. BAUGH, H. N., and BAUGH, J. July 6, 1948, Nos. 18097 and 23685. [Class 130] [Also in Group XVII] An ash receptacle 4 is combined with a cigarette container 3 and pivoted in an opening in a frame 1 so that the cigarettes are delivered singly. In Fig. 6 the pivots 10 are arranged so that in the position shown a cigarette is delivered to a pair of rests 15. Normally a spring pushes the ash receptacle outwards so that its back is in the plane of the frame 1 and the cigarette slot 9 is closed by a plate 14. A slot 8 enables the cigarette container 3 to be filled. The ash receptacle 4, which preferably has a closure plate 18, as described in Specification 641,160, may be mounted by pins 16 fitting into key-hole slots. In Fig. 11 the cigarette container 3 has a closure 21a about which the device is pivoted, a plunger or slide being provided to eject single cigarettes. Normally, the front of the ash receptacle is kept flush with the frame 1, as shown, by a rib 28, but it may be rotated until the end of part 29 contacts the rib 28 when the ash receptacle will be available, or rotated further to enable the cigarette container to be filled.
