Abstract

639,890. Making closure caps. AKTIEBOLAGET WICANDERS KORKFABRIKER. Dec. 18, 1947, No. 33500. Convention date, Dec. 23, 1946. [Class 83 (ii)] Closure caps for bottles and the like are made in a series of operations in which a strip is fed from a roll 2, is impressed by tools 3 and 4 with an annular recess having the shape of the bottle mouth, has a plastic, rubber or other sealing material poured into the recess by a funnel 7 and applied evenly by a tool 8 and finally the cap is punched out of the strip by the tools 10, 11. After leaving the tool 8, the strip may be heated or cooled at A for the setting of the sealing material and at that stage the process may be interrupted and the strip stored for future use in another machine for punching out the caps.
