Abstract

639,760. Sowing seeds. BRADLEY, J., and BOA, W. May 26, 1948, No. 14208. [Class 6 (i)] A seed-sower comprises a vertical delivery tube 1 having an elongated upper end 2 and a restricted lower end 3, one or more seed containers 4, 4a being mounted adjacent to the tube so that seeds can be lifted from the containers and deposited in the tube by vertically-moving members 6, 6a, having chamfered upper edges 8, 8a approximately the diameter of a seed. As shown in figs. 1 and 2, the members 6, 6a are reciprocated by cams 11, but the members may be carried between continuouslymoving endless-bands. The upper edges 8, 8a, in addition to being chamfered are inclined to the horizontal upper edge of the tube 1. Ejection of the seeds from the tube 1 may be assisted by an air stream.
