Abstract
639,618. Load-handling trucks. HYSTER CO. Dec. 3, 1947, No. 31984. Convention date, Feb. 10, 1943. [Class 78 (iii)] In a lifting truck of the kind having an upwardly extending vertical frame provided with lifting arms, the frame is secured to a support means which is fixedly secured to the axle housing and pivotally secured to the chassis. The frame 43 has secured thereto a pair of support members 36 which are each welded to the housing 34 of the front axle 35 and connected to forwardly extending channel section arms 24 on the chassis by resilient pivots 48. These pivots each comprise an inner sleeve 30 connected by a rubber bush 32 to an outer sleeve 33 which is secured by a U-bolt 60 to the associated support member 36, whilst the inner sleeves 30 are each secured by a bolt 28, between the flanges of the associated channeled arm 24. The arrangement is such that bending movements on the chassis are minimised by supporting the load directly on the axle, whilst the rubber bushes allow sufficient freedom of movement to allow the frame 43, together with the axle housing 34, to be tilted by a pair of spaced parallel arms 64 when they are actuated by a hydraulic thrustor 52.
