[Also in Groups XXX and XXXII] A load-handling machine comprises front and rear wheeled supports rigidly joined together by a frame recessed on at least one side, a loader supported on the machine and movable transversely thereof in a substantially horizontal plane in the space formed by the recessed part and a load elevator carried by the loader. The vehicle is stabilized in use by struts having ground engaging feet 155. As shown in Fig. 5, the strut 152 is slidably mounted in a bracket 154 pivoted to a member 27 or 28. The strut has spaced lugs 157 to which is pivoted a link 160 pivoted to a support on the member and having the end of the hydraulic cylinder 165 pivoted thereto. The piston 166 is pivoted to a bracket on the link 160. When the cylinder is operated the lugs 157 engage an arcuate track 159 on the member and the struts are moved outwardly and downwardly to ground engaging position. The front wheel axle 33 is bolted to a wishbone unit 35, Fig. 8, having front and rear pivots 36 and 37. The pivot 36 is mounted by a pin 38 on a bumper structure 39, while the rear pivot is mounted by a pin on a V-bracket.
