Abstract
638,115. Electric dimensional measurement. SKODA WORKS, NATIONAL CORPORATION. Dec. 30, 1947, No. 34652. Convention date, Oct. 15, 1941. [Class 37] [Also in Group XXXVIII] Fig. 1 shows a capacity plug gauge having a cylindrical steel body A around which four insulated electrodes b<1>-b<4> are mounted at 90 degree intervals. The diameter dk over the electrodes is accurately dimensioned and ends B are made oversize to act as guides. Each electrode is connected through screened leads S to a capacity measuring device, which is also connected with the work through the measuring table. From measurements of the capacities between the work and the several electrodes, the dimensional clearance between the accurate over-electrode dimension dk and the aperture in the work may be determined, and the diameter of the aperture gauged. In modifications (Figs. 2, 3, 4, not shown), the invention is applied to ring and caliper gauges, and a plug gauge having a single measurement axis.
