Abstract
637,521. Rotary cutters and grinding tools ; saws. GOEHLE, E. G. May 9, 1947, No. 12602. Convention date, Sept. 27, 1945. [Classes 60, 124, 145 (i), and 145 (ii)] [Also in Group XXII] A rotary cutting tool, especially for use in cutting commutator slots, comprises a cemented carbide (e.g. tungsten carbide) disc or saw 10 mounted on the reduced portion 16 of a hub 12 and held between the shoulder 18 and a ring 22 which together form an annular pocket for the disc, the disc being permanently brazed to the walls of the pocket. The members 12, 22 are of bronze, copper or cold-rolled steel, whilst the exposed faces of the disc or saw may be tapered inwardly toward the hub as at 26 (see Fig. 4). Teeth 24 are preferably cut after the attachment of the disc 10 to the hub &c.
